Success for all by empowering and enabling GHAPS staff & students.
Serving through pragmatic leadership.
A father of three GHAPS students and experienced working with local, regional and state level public educational systems, Marc Eickholt has been involved in learning from the kitchen table to the conference table.
Appointed to the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Board of Education in the fall of 2021, Marc is seeking to continue his service of current and future students of GHAPS.
Serving all of our students
Being a district of 5500+ students, it is important to be intentional in decisions affecting student learning and environment. Every student comes to GHAPS with their their own abilities, needs, experiences, aspirations, and life outside of school. Serving all of our students means that decisions made at the Board level must take this into account.
Empower and enable GHAPS staff
It is not just enough to empower our teachers and staff. We must continue to enable them with the best ongoing training and support available. The district should always strive to continuously improve. This means not just address our challenges but ‘sharpen the axe’ of our strengths as well.
Invest in success
Investing in success not only includes investing in GHAPS staff, but responsibly investing in the district’s facilities and infrastructure. What is often called “the new high school” is the district’s newest of eleven buildings at 25 years old. The requirements of providing an enriching and safe environment for students and staff are ever rapidly evolving and the GHAPS community should continue to recognize this for years to come.
“…It is our obligation to provide each student in our community a positive environment for learning so they will experience success and realize their fullest potential…”
